Kia Key Cover Guide: Three Buttons, Four Buttons and Where to Look

To choose a Kia key cover for your Seltos, Sonet or Carens, check where the buttons sit before you count them. A four-button cover with the controls on the broad face and one with the controls along the edge are cut for different fobs. If your key has three buttons, first check whether a metal blade swings out on a hinge.

Four buttons? Turn the key on its side

Take off any old cover and hold the key with the keyring end down. Look at the broad face, then roll the fob over to see each narrow edge. This quick check separates three designs that can all appear in searches for a “Kia four-button key cover”.

Four buttons on the broad face

In the black silicone example below, the four button markings run down the broad face. If that matches your key, compare the order of the icons and the outline around the bottom of the fob before choosing a cover.

Four buttons along one edge

The side-button silicone example has a textured broad face and a row of controls along a narrow edge. The listing mentions the 2023/2024 Seltos facelift HTX, Sonet facelift and Carens Clavis X Line. Use those names to narrow your search, then check the actual edge and end openings against the listing photos.

Syros-style four-button fob

The white TPU example is listed for a different four-button shape. Its gallery shows both sides of the cover. Compare both edges and the shape at each end of your key. A front photo alone may hide the detail that rules out a cover.

Three buttons? Find the blade release

On a flip key, pressing the release lets the metal blade swing out. In the TPU photo below, look for the round release opening near the corner. If your key flips open, match that opening and the side where the blade swings.

A three-button smart fob has a different shape. If yours has a removable emergency blade, look for the release and check the cover photos for access to it. The metal smart-key example below shows its controls along the narrow edge. You can also use the flip key and smart key identification guide to check which mechanism you have.

Questions Kia owners ask before ordering

Will a Seltos cover also fit my Sonet or Carens?

Some listings name more than one Kia model because they cover a shared key design. Compare the fob you carry with the product photos. Start in the Kia key cover collection, choose the matching design, then pick a finish.

What if my key has the same icons but the ring is at a different end?

Rotate both views so the keyring end points the same way, then compare the icons again. If the ring slot, button positions or release openings still differ, look for another design. Take a clear photo of the face and each edge if you need help matching it.

What should I check when the cover arrives?

Check that the cover sits evenly and every button presses and releases freely. With the car parked, check that the flip blade moves freely or that you can reach the emergency-blade release, if your key has one. If the cover catches or needs force to close, remove it and compare the shape again.
