Mahindra Key Covers: How to Tell Similar Key Designs Apart

Editorial illustration of three abstract car key shapes on a dark drafting surface

To choose a Mahindra key cover, start with the fob in your hand. If the metal blade swings out on a hinge, look for a flip-key cover. Then check the outline, the hinge position and the layout of every button. Two Mahindra fobs can both have three buttons and still need different covers.

Start with the blade, then count the buttons

Design in the SHOPOFLUX catalogue What to compare on your own key
Scorpio N and related 3-button flip design Blade hinge, release button and the channel the folded blade sits in
Older XUV500 3-button flip design Outline around the hinge end and spacing between the three buttons
XUV500 3-button smart design Front outline, button positions and any openings along the edge
6-button smart design listed for BE 6 and other Mahindra models All six controls, their positions and the outline of the entire fob

The two 3-button flip covers worth comparing side by side

The black metal-and-silicone 3-button flip cover is listed for a specific design found in the Scorpio N and several other Mahindra listings. The older XUV500 3-button flip cover has its own product photos. Set your fob down with the hinge facing the same way as the example. Look at where the blade exits and how the corners sit around the hinge. If those features line up, compare the three buttons individually.

For a smart fob, compare the whole button face

Shopping for an XUV500? The brown XUV500 smart-key cover shows another three-button layout. If your key has a folding blade, go back to the flip-key photos. For a fob with six controls, the black silicone 6-button smart-key cover gives you a separate reference. Check each control's position, then use the side and rear photos to confirm that the cover leaves any release or opening you use accessible.

Once you know the design, open the Mahindra key cover collection, choose the matching key design and compare the available finishes. For a closer look at the blade mechanism, see our flip key and smart key guide.

Questions before you order

Can I use an XUV500 smart-key cover on a 3-button XUV500 flip key?

Choose the cover for the flip design. The blade needs clearance to swing out, and the cover must line up with the hinge and release button.

What if the spare key looks different?

Compare the fob you actually plan to cover. If you want a cover for both keys, check each one against the product photos separately.

What if I have a flat key card?

Look for a listing that shows a matching card format. The covers pictured here are shaped for button fobs.
